TANTO thread organiser reviews please
Does anyone have a Tanto thread organiser as i have seen them on the internet and there are quite a few mixed reviews about them. Does the thread get tangled up and can you replace the elastic bands when they break?Any views greatly received :D:D:D
I have 2 that I use constantly. Yes the threads can get tangled up but if you don't have them shorter lengths they don't tangle as much. Yes the rubber bands do break but I just replace them with heavy duty bands from stationery stores. I love my tanto organisers but I do need to replace 1 of the heads as I've had some pins break off when my daughter knocked it over and it hit our tv cabinet. I have one but don't use it as much as I did, 3 years ago got a new puppy who decidedit was fun to try and eat my threads, so I put it away. Might try again now, lost quite a few threads that I had stored on card as he likes to eat anything card. That hasn't changed but he might leave the stand alone. I had never heard of this organizer before... Wonderful, thanks so much!
Following this thread They look good but never used one. I sort my floss on a sheet of hardboard screwed to the wall and then small panel pins nailed onto it at intervals in several rows and I hang the floss on the nails in numerical order. My wonderful husband made it for me, itis out of the way on the wall behind the door, I can see at a glance the colour numbers and it was cheap to make.A simple idea but so useful. langstep replied at 2012-8-10 19:03 static/image/common/back.gif

That is a brilliant idea..and my other half is very creative so might put that to him as a project. Thank you so much :D It is a nice way to have them sorted langstep!I don't have a spare wall in my apt to do that so I guess I'll have to keep mine on the bobbins and in sorters!
I haven't heard of the Tanto thread organizer.I'll have to look it up sometime to check it out. From what i have been reading they still tangle up especially when the elastic bands break I must admit that they look rather expensive being only plastic, and therefore I would think rather flimsy. The company are selling them on ebay for £29.99 if that helps. dstressd replied at 2012-8-15 19:37 static/image/common/back.gif

thank you :D well i took the plunge and bought a secondhand one which i managed to get for just a few pounds and it is a bit flimsy and to be honest i am not convinced that it will do the job as well as is claimed in the companies write up but i will give it a shot and see what happens. If all else fails it will be on ebay in a couple of weeks lol
