searching for help to a knitting issue on a pattern

Hii'm searching for some help to figure out the meaning of the chart for the Simurg Shawl by Olga Sukhovalova.

i'm still new into knitting but i learn by doing the sting i wanna make :)

I am just a bit confused over the way the chart looks like. like where it have the start position from and then in 3rd row have that far space with no stitches and then some stitches again. let me just say this much i have only done 2 or 3 shawls before but always had a good eye to this one

Those dark grey areas mean No stitches.
Just ignore them and continue according to the chart.
Row 3: 3 edge stitches (yellow), YO, knit, YO, knit, YO, knit 3, central stitch (yellow), then continue according to the chart but from the left to the right: knit 3, YO, knit, YO, knit, YO, 3 edge stitches = total 23 stitches.
Etc.
