I know you can do it on 25 or 28 count. Just make sure you have GOOD lighting. I use a cool based daylight bulb that is pointed at my work and coming over my left shoulder (I"m left handed) so that it shines right on the spot I am working on.

I did that too I used crepepaper and a lot of salt and boiled the water with the cloth in it.
Then a lot of water to rinse it and than you have blue cloth. You can also put pieces of crepe paper on the cloth I think but never tried that.
