I go by what the instructions/pattern says. I'm a new stitcher though (well, new again lol) so I am only using kits at the moment. Hopefully soon I can use kits/fabric with the design already on it ready to stitch (or learn how to copy to the fabric) so I can go top to bottom, left to right, as it seems like it would be much easier for me.diystuff Publish time 2018-10-13 10:46
Start in the middle so that the design sits in the middle of the fabric and leaves plenty of space to frame.Chase21500 Publish time 2018-12-14 19:16

I like to start from the left hand top corner, because i was always scared if i started in the middle i would not have any border fabricleftpinky66 Publish time 2020-1-1 01:44

I start by marking the middle, sometimes will start from there, sometimes will work from the top left to the bottom right, depends on the project.
