For me the real hassle compared to crochet, was that the stitches tend to slip from the needles if you're not careful and correcting any mistake is much harder... Other that that, with little patience you can knit amazing pieces. I too recommend youtube to start, there are plenty of tutorials for complete beginners. Happy knitting! My tip is learn to knit continental as you already are used to tensioning the yarn with your left hand.

Hi :) I'm learning to knit too, I suggest starting with small project with ripetitive stitches to get the hang of it, for example a scarf/shawl and use a chunky yarn, so it should "grow" faster. For me the real hassle compared to crochet, was that the stitches tend to slip from the needles if you're not careful and correcting any mistake is much harder... Other that that, with little patience you can knit amazing pieces.
I too recommend youtube to start, there are plenty of tutorials for complete beginners.

Check to see if there is a local knit group that you can join or a relative/friend that is willing to help.  Sometimes a video just doesn't do it for me.  My local library provides space for a knit group that I joined.  It's great for conversation and help.  Another place to check out is your local rec centre, senior centre, library, parks & rec, etc.  I found my group thru Ravelry where they have a static presence.  Check around.  Knitters always like to help other knitters/crocheters.  You might be supprised what you find.
