[message] => Hi, I'm new to this site and I'm very glad to join. It looks like a good site. I have not browsed very much, but I hope to find more awesome crochet patterns and just take a look at everything more.
I originally was trying to find a Spider-Man crochet/amigurumi pattern but of Miles Morales version because I couldn't find any I was interested in on Etsy or elsewhere, so I came across this site. That's how I found this site. I actually found a great crochet pattern for this on here once I looked it up! I'm trying to make it for my sister cause she likes this movie.
Now I just thought I'd ask some basic crochet questions to see if anyone had a similar experience.
1 . When reading patterns what terminology do people typically use on here? I probably use US Terms
2. When making something do you count your rows / stitches or use a stitch marker? I kind of do both, depending on where I'm at in the project
3. What brand of yarn do people like? I like anything really but i sometimes use lion brand, red heart, and lemon-sugar I think it's called? That's what they have in the US along with other brands I've never tried yet
4. What characters do people like to make if making amigurumi and not a bag or a blanket or a granny square project? For me i'm currently making a joker (DC) plush and I want to make one of Harley Quinn too. I'd also like to make sailor moon she's so cute. I haven't seen an Asuka plush much (maybe 1 or 2) but I would love to make her too ! I could also make Pokémon that would be fun
5. Has any one tried to crochet clothing before? I myself have not yet, but I'd like to try
Thanks for reading, feel free to share if you'd like and I hope everybody is trying to stay safe, and have a good day : )
Also if I make a mistake please feel free to let me know I'll do my best to fix it

1 - US.
2 - Both. I tend to lose count without a stitch marker.
3 - I don't really care about brands and such as long as the yarn is good quality and affordable.
4 - I crochet my own characters. If there's a pattern that like (the overall shape of the doll is good) but it's for an existing character I don't really care about, I customize it to fit what I like for it to be.
5 - Hats and bags are the only type of wearables I've managed to make as clothes such as dresses or sweaters tend to be too large for me to crochet. There's also too many things to consider when making them since you have to make sure they fit the person. You have to choose the right hook and yarn for them to be the right size and that's not really the case in amigurumi where it doesn't matter what size you make your doll as long as the stitches are tight.
