if some one download your pattern

how does this coin thing work ...if someone has downloaded my pattern ...do i recieve the 150 coins and if so where do i go to get them...i finally got my first pattern to upload right but am not sure how this coin thing works

You get your coins when someone buys the attachment, and there are no separate notifications for that. You can check your income here: https://www.pindiy.com/home.php? ... c=credit&op=log Please note that there is a 30% system tax that will be automatically deducted from the points you've earned (meaning if you've priced your thread to 150 GC your income will be 105 GC).

The number of downloads that is displayed next to the filename in the thread is not an accurate indicator of your income because a) moderators have to download the attachment to check it and they are not paying for that b) once someone pays for an attachment, they're free to download it as many times they wish c) using download managers, proxy servers and VPNs can register as multiple downloads instead of one. The number of replies is also wholly irrelevant. Most of the repliers do so for earning GC fast, and they will never download.

While statistically, the most interaction in a thread happens in the first 36-48 hours, it doesn't mean that hundreds of people will actually buy the attachment, especially when the pattern is free, old, or has been on the site before, one form or another. Popular patterns can get up to 50 downloads in the said period, but there are threads that will never achieve more than 10 downloads in a year's time.
