It works wonderfully for me because I have reached the stage where my hand will go totally numb at night if I don't watch how I use it. Totally numb in this case means I wake up and it has no feeling, not even pins and needles numb.

One word of warning though. I had a project where I used hoops, and when I misted and ironed the piece, some of the colors bled. IMAGINE my horrified reaction to that! I just about had a cow. It took many hours of rescue work to correct that problem, believe me. I use both hoops and scroll frames, and like both for different reasons and different projects. Small projects = hoops. Anything with beads and metallics = scroll frame (because I never want to wash and iron those types of projects. In fact, I don't wash finished projects unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.) Hope this helps at all. :)
