"Punto piña" is actually a bobble stitch:

It literally translates to "pineapple stitch" but that is a completely different stitch in English. In this case it's a bobble stitch with 4 dc.

Punto vareta is a doble crochet, so you have to do "1 punto piña" of 4 dc. And mp is "medio punto", means single crochet as you guessed.
