The little Japanese girl is a piece of fabric over a button mold. She is very light and I can use the small magnet with her.
They are super easy to make. The hardest part is cutting off the pin part if they are decorative pins. Cute buttons make great ones too
That is really cool! Magnets. I have magnets stuck in my floss boxes already for needles. This is so much cuter!
I am using a minder on my chicken cross stitch. It's actually a bead so the needle sits perfectly in the hole and I don't lose it
The minder doesn't need to be metal. The magnets are so strong that you can use plastic or wooden charms. The larger 1/2'' magnet works best. I bought the smaller ones first, but wasn't happy w/ them.
I glue a rare earth magnet (see the silver circles in pic) to the back of the minder, then I use a 2nd magnet on the back of the fabric. It holds the minder tightly and it is what attracts the needle.

thank you. They are fun, and I lose fewer needles now :) Scavenging the Hobby stores for cheap items makes it like a treasure hunt for me
