For socks I've found that the bamboo has not kept it's shape as well as wool, but so far, other than that, they are wearing well. They are warm on my feet though and comfortable. They also feel softer on my feet than the wool socks I've knit so far. The yarn I used was manufactured over 10 years ago, so I'm sure manufacturers have improved their blends and processes since mine was made. I recently did up a pair of socks in a bamboo sock yarn.  For socks I've found that the bamboo has not kept it's shape as well as wool, but so far, other than that, they are wearing well.  They are warm on my feet though and comfortable.  They also feel softer on my feet than the wool socks I've knit so far.  The yarn I used was manufactured over 10 years ago, so I'm sure manufacturers have improved their blends and processes since mine was made.  I'm finally working on getting my stash down:$ so my experience might not match up with a newer yarn.

It is soft and silky, does not stretch, but tend to be splitty. Similar to mercerized cotton.
