i always use my first leg stitch, so all stitches are in the same directions. I wouldßnt recommend a full Crossstitch, because the sometimes the designs are designed for half stitch and full stitch - take a look at the describtion!

I would recommend the same direction as the top stitch, especially if you use rice or oblong beads. Hope it helped!

I have never done bead stitching, but will soon do some bead stitching for my current wip. And I think, it will look better if it is done in the same direction with the top stitch. :)

well, it depends if you atached as your decision to embellisment so better make the same direction of the uper stitch, but if you follow a designer with beads in the kit  usually you should follow the instructions  ' cause might have different directions that fit the sense of design :)
