I have a 11"x 17" design that uses 14ct aida or 28 ct evenweave...
but i read somewhere if want to make the design smaller, can use maybe 36 ct evenweave? is this okay?
With few exceptions, you can stitch any design on any count of fabric -- higher counts will result in smaller images, lower counts are larger and more blocky. Things get even smaller when some (slightly crazy!) people stitch over 1 on 36 or 40 count. As others have said, the size of the design will be #stitches/stitches per inch, so it's easy to calculate.
why don´t you use 18ct Aida? or 16ct... the higher the count the smaller the stitches (Aida, stitched over 1 Thread - evenweace or co you normally stitch over 2 threads, but also can stitch over 1 thread!
Yes, using 36ct will make your finished project smaller and it's definitely okay, if that's what you want. The higher the thread count, the smaller your finish will be.
I love stitching on high counts. The finished project has a delicate look I love:)
I love to read your comment, could you share your work in higher fabric, I love to see it, because I never heard about fabric more than 28ct :$ thank you
