I always handwash as i usually do large projects, without any problem.

Me too, I always hand wash my finished works, (and that's necessary !) without any trouble. I use DMC floss and danish threads, which are more fragile, but they are not affected by a light washing.

If I use GAST or Week Dye Works I dont wash my project but if I sue dmc I do it

I hand wash with orvus, which is a mild horse shampoo.  Never had any trouble with colors running
