Silk is very beautiful but it breaks down if exposed to direct sunlight. Can something be framed behind any kind of special glass to stop this?

No framing does not stop. Better hang your piece in the shadow. If using glass: take care that you make a frame not airtight. Airflow helps too. Use a seed bead between wood+glass to create air space.  Post time 2021-3-31 19:25

Rayon from DMC can be an option. Lasts longer too. Then you save up money for silk if a piece is really important. Like for a wedding.  Post time 2021-3-31 19:27
