I have seen in several posts indicating the use of beeswax on thread so it does not twist or gives knot. How do you use it? What is the difference between this material and "Thread Heaven"?

I’ve started using thread heaven as well.  I never heard before this that saliva can degrade the thread...wow I’ve been doing that forever...going to be a bad habit to stop. I enjoy reading everyone’s input...it helps me to know what to use.

I have both and much prefer the Thread Heaven to keep threads from knotting as much. For me, the beeswax doesn't get the thread very silky, more STICKY than anything else. It does keep it from knotting but I don't like sticky. :(

I prefer beeswax to thread heaven - bees wax isn't colored so i can use it on white silk where I'd worry the thread heaven would leave marks.

To use bees wax you run the thread through it, then press it with an iron in a paper bag so the wax melts into the thread and it doesn't feel greasy when you use it. I use it for linen threads, goldwork and when I'm beading to reinforce the threads.
