I am teaching my best friend Marie how to stitch. I'm having trouble getting her to understand quarter stitches. Does anyone have any tips or stuff that might help? Thanks:)
This diagram represents a square. To stitch a quarter stitch, bring the threaded tapestry needle up at 1.
To complete the stitch, bring the threaded tapestry needle down at 2, through the center of the square. Quarter stitches may be stitched from any corner of the Aida square.
This diagram represents one square. To stitch a three-quarter stitch, first bring the needle up at 1 and down at 2, stitching a quarter stitch.
Next, bring the needle up at 3 and down at 4, stitching a half stitch to complete the three-quarter stitch. Three-quarter stitches may be stitched in any direction.
I find stitching part 2 in the darker shade when laying next to a different colour quarter stitch adds definition, other wise if this is not needed stitch as
