I made some Christmas ornaments to give out to family along with the presents. I stitched them on 14 ct aida  3 threads. I got the patterns here Lamp Post and Boot. I finished them by stitching little x's in three of the corners and a grommet for ribbon or hanger. The backing is stiff felt. Its easy to stitch through to hold them together.

Oooh, they are lovely!   Great idea using the grommet to attach ribbon to!   I don't like french knots either, beads are a great alternative and look great!
