But it ...[/quote] Aida is different from linen & evenweave because aida threads are already grouped in blocks. The blocks are neat little squares making counting and seeing the holes easier. With linen & evenweave, we need to train our eyes to visually 'group' the threads in twos, hence the 'over 2 threads'. With a HAED design, aida might work better ! When trying out evenweave / linen for the first time, select a design that has most of the stitches in a group eg a mouse. This will help with getting used to the new fabric. Aida is different from linen & evenweave because aida threads are already grouped in blocks.  The blocks are neat little squares making counting and seeing the holes easier.  With linen & evenweave, we need to train our eyes to visually 'group' the threads in twos, hence the 'over 2 threads'.
