I use the wooden frame, it's a bit heavy, but soon I'll get my floor stand :)))

I started using the hoop... I hated it.I went to the Q-Snap.really liked it but found it bulky... now I use a Grip-n-Stitch / Clip-n-Stitch.
Like the Q-snap it is adjustable, smaller on the frame.and great for packing.I did not like the Grip part of it, so I used it as a clip.Best in hand frame i have used.
I also have a large floor frame (got second hand(and being a cross stitch horder had to have it) but i have never done a large enough project to use it

I use a floor standing frame for large projects and a table top frame for smaller ones. I've never mastered a hoop, I always over tighten the screw and my aida goes all skew whiff!

I definitely vote for q-snap frames. No matter how long I leave it in the frame it does not permanently damage the fabric. I used to use scroll frames, but my projects are getting bigger and bigger, and thus, don't fit.

small projects get a hoop, but large ones get a scroll frame, unless I want it portable, then even big ones get a hoop
