Favourite way to join *cotton* yarn?
What is everyone's go-to way to join cotton/linen yarn that's secure but also discrete?Mine is the overlap and knit double method but it IS quite noticeable depending on the yarn weight >.< I don't knit much but I did use the method you mentioned, the same with crochet actually. I finish the last stitch by changing to the new yarn on the last pull through and stitch over the tail a little Hi :) I like the double knot method (search for "magic knot" on Youtube): secure each end on the other thread then pull the slipknot together so that the knots are close together, be sure to work the knots on the back of the work and weave in the tails when you're done (others cut the tails close to the knots, but I'd rather weave them in to be more secure).
Never unraveled and it is secure even with added tension!
Hope that helps :)
I do it like @Everia & also weave in the tails.
I never trust the "cut at the knot" thing.
Even when sewing I' ll never use the quilter's knot. I am a big weave-in-fan.
When the yarn is very thick, I split it to make it less visible.
I spend a lot of time to make something so this little extra effort is worth the time.
