Is it now to get gold coins only after replying every 10 minutes?

Still nothing. Hopefully it gets back to normal. Did any of the admins say anything about this issue?

I would much rather have a daily cap on total coins earned from replies than have a 5- or 10-minute wait between +10 gold from replies. I think most people can come and hang out at the forums for 20-60 minutes between other life responsibilities. I would rather be able to earn a few hundred coins in that time than have to spend an hour trying to time my replies every 5 minutes in order to get 100 coins.
If the site owner is losing money due to hosting costs, maybe rate limiting downloads or having a cap on the number of downloads (or mb) a user can make per day is the answer.
I think there are a lot of ways to fix whatever problems are happening behind the scenes, but this new 5- or 10-minute cap has to be really discouraging to new users. If this policy was in place when I joined, I don't think I would have stayed long. :(

Totally agree, it would be better. This new system is awful

To follow up on this, I think there was probably a huge spike in downloads after the patterns came back from being offline for a while. I (and I assume other users) went into panic mode thinking that maybe the patterns would go offline again soon, and I wanted to make sure that I grabbed patterns that looked interesting to me, or that had new techniques I wanted to learn, etc. So I went on a bit of a binge shopping spree for patterns and I downloaded a lot over a short period of time - about 8 pages in my iBooks. This included some larger book downloads that I had wanted, but had been putting off due to their size.
I think it would only take a few users having a similar "panic" response to the patterns coming back online after being offline in order for there to be a massive spike in downloads and bandwidth used within a short time period. The upside to this is that it didn't take that long for me to go back to my normal downloading and posting habits.

Maybe there is a possibility to restrict 1 reply during 2 minutes? 10 minutes is too long. Everybody workd and cannot "hang" here for a long time. If we start to make something else, we forget to come here again. And I think in such situation the people will not buy the pattern especially those which cost 333 coins
