Surri Alpaca is one fibre that is recommended quite a bit as a substitue for mohair. The Woolly Badger has a great write up on different fibres and yarns that can be substituted for mohair on her blog that was recently posted which you might like to check out. Just do a google search for the "the Woolly Badger mohair substitute" and you should be able to find it right off since we aren't supposed to post direct links offsite. Unfortunately if you want to knit with mohair you have to deal with all the drawbacks that entails, but if you are open to a substitute, you can still have the effect, but not as many hassles. Best ways to keep mohair fluffs from going everywhere

What is your solution to stop mohair yarn from shedding fluffs of fiber everywhere when knitting?
I don't like how tangly it gets and how difficult it is to unravel if I make a mistake. Then, when I unravel, it's messy. Do you have any tips to avoid that?

Решение одно - чтоб не было пушинок от мохера, нужно перестать использовать мохер ;P Это особенность пряжи, от этого не спрятаться :)
