Free Patterns
Edited by anniekins at 2024-2-16 22:01I thought "Free" was "Free."The rules say no more than 10 gold coins. You leave a thank you, and you get your gold coins back. That's great! But I see a lot of patterns that say "free," and they're not 10 gold coins but 50 gold coins. Also, why are the ones with no price 30 gold coins to download?I'm still trying to figure that one out.
Yes, the free ones should only be 10 gold coins. If you see a pattern listed that was free for more than 10 gold coins then report the thread to the moderator of the forum. There is a 'Report' button on each thread. Maybe they can research it and correct the thread.
It's hard for the moderators to know exactly which threads are free on other sites they are from.
Download cost per thread is 30 gold coins. That is the forum standard and rule.
I am very selective in the ones I download for that reason. static/image/common/user_online.gif Gsells1930 static/image/common/clock.gif 2024-1-26 08:56
If I am short on coins I just look for the pattern on the web...problem solved. I like to save my co ...
I generally won't "buy" a pattern on this site for more than 200 gold coins.ONCE IN A WHILE, I'll fork up the 333 if I can't find it anywhere else online.I am now seeing patterns for 400 gold coins.I'd rather just go to Etsy or some other site and pay actual money.Like you, I like to save my coins, too.But I do like the free ones and will get the ones that are 150.Like I said, MAYBE I'll spend more if I really want it. Free means the designer gives his pattern for free,
that does not mean it costs NOTHING on the site
you can download the pattern on ravelry for free Please post a link to the thread with this problem, it will be solved.

I am talking about the ones that are listed on THIS SITE "Free."The rules are no more than 10 gold coins. The patterns are generally free here. It's like a game where you do things and interact to earn your gold coins.MAYBE you'll find them free online somewhere else, meaning you don't have to do anything to earn "coins" for them.I buy a lot of patterns with actual money. But not all patterns on Ravelry are free.I buy from there also.On this site, from what I understand, designers aren't giving their patterns here for free.I have come across one thread where a designer is demanding her pattern be removed from this site.

Didn’t know that when you thank the post’s author the 10 coins go back to you. I always thank the...
When I'm done commenting, the orange "10 gold coins" pops up.Go to credits on the upper right hand corner of the page and click on the Gold Coins. There is a log you can go to that tells you where your coins are going or coming.I'm on my computer when roaming through this site.I don't do this on my phone.Navigation on a phone might be different.
If you don't see your 10 gold coins coming in on your "Points Log," message one of the admins. They are pretty good at getting back to you.

I AGREE ITS VERY WEIRD??
Pitussa says, "Please post a link to the thread with this problem, it will be solved.
But make sure you also read this: [www.pindiy.com/thread-586602-1-1.html" Good point, I had wondered about that. I think the nice thing is that free patterns sometimes don't have the PDF on the website with the OG pattern, so I'm cool with paying some coins to have that PDF personally. This is why I'm very selective about what I download. static/image/common/user_online.gif cindyxs234 static/image/common/clock.gif 2024-1-25 12:42
