Working with very small yarn.
Edited by afterbrain at 2024-1-1 23:03I received some tiny balls of yarn (DMC size 80 crochet cotton, 20g) and I was looking for inspiration for projects to do with them...
Here are some examples I loved, available on this site:
Anything by Lunar Heavenly (though this is all in Japanese and can get a bit tricky to follow
Doilies - Here there are so many options... I have been meaning to make Driada (Vitagul) for a while, but I am not sure how (and which size) it would come out. From the needle size it looks like the original pattern is not meant for a yarn this small.
(These patterns are available on the site, search for the bold part to find them)
Does anyone have any experience working with this yarn size? Or have other examples of projects like this?
You can try looking into micro crocheting!
I'd suggest Steffi Glaves, who pulished a nice book with patterns for micro creations which can be used as pendants for earrings/necklaces.
A delicate crochet lace can also work as decoration for blouses, maybe around the collar or along the cuffs...
I tried a few times to crochet with a tiny thread, but the projects require too much attention to detail and patience for me to really enjoy. Best of luck! You can look for micro crochet in general, but I really love the patterns by NanysOops (Anastasia Kirs). They are very cute! Lots of little creatures like a dragon, bunny, koala, red panda and much more (^-^) io pernalmente non lavoroi filati sottili , ma mi piacciono molto le creazioni di Alisa Verbitskaya ( la trovi su FB) e puoi avere un'ispirazione su cosafare ;)
This is very thin threads for crocheting doilies of Vitagul, they'll be too small. I think, you can crochet collar, maybe snowflakes and similar decor. Or try to use two fold thread I like to do micro-crochet amigurumi and flowers with lace thread. And if you're willing to learn a new craft, this cotton thread will be good for needle/shuttle tatting.
Thankyouverymuchforsharingthisgreatpattern ! You can crochet almost everything with thin yarn. But it's the easiest to try something not that experienced. I've made a mouse and a bear with thick sewing thread :) Is it "cordonnet special" yarn ? If so, you can also try jewelery projects. With such yarn, I use my smallest crochet 0,60 ! Maybe you could make some kind of applique. They don't usually need much yarn. You can even make some earrings out of the applique I made scrunchies from mini skeins. If they are cotton it's ideal for your hair as it doesn't damage them no experience but following the thread to see responses! Thanks. I have learnt a lot here You can make snowflakes.I find that with this tiny thread it's very useful. Hermosos y Lindo y hermoso i like doilies the best for tiny thread Thanks for sharing!
