I fancied a nice book mark with Mona Lisas's eyes, there are only 7 colors - I got tired right away in the shop selecting the colors, lol I cannot even fathom how people manage to collect a dozen shades of brown or blue or red. But i saw a picture of someone who was working on it on facebook and i was sold. I downloaded the pattern and looked at it and saw it was easy,so i started it. Ok, all I wanted to say is that cross-stitchers are the most patient and dedicated people on this planet. Because when I want to cross-stitch - I buy a kit with floss and canvas already there.
