crochet on public transport?
hi everyone,I was wondering if any of you guys crochets or knits on public transport on your commutes to work, and if so, do people comment often? Cause I only get weird looks so I try to sort of hide next to a window seat I've had people asking questions and being curious, but it's mostly "what are you making" type questions. Now I'm not the only one doing yarn work on public transportation where I live (there's a lady knitting a wonderful blanket!), so it's not considered strange, but interesting and a conversation starter. I agree with feathers Hi, I crochet in public places sometimes, not on public tranports cause I live in a small town, but people usually ask "what are you making?", And other people gives me a weird look It seems to me a lot more common now then it used to be, because we crafters are making good use of our time while someone else does the driving.I knit while my DH or someone else drives.Quite frequently I get smiles or sometimes even double takes from truckers when they look down into the car as they frequently do.I've even taken my spinning wheel to the drive-in to have something to do before the movie starts. You'd be amazed at the number of people who stop by to chat and see what's up. duh ofc. on long train rides i dont have anything to do but crocheting + its great to make good use of that time. in public transport itself ive never gotten any weird looks, at least i dont remember, but usually the response i get in public is a good one. i live in a small catholic town so elderly people think it’s amazing, same goes for my teachers at school haha I crochet on the bus (both inner city bus and cross-country bus) and during most classes (it helps me pay attention because my hands are busy and my teachers like what I make but i hear that's rare) and nobody ever comments
