How to upload files using the new upload system
Edited by leopard danio at 2021-11-23 20:40"Post new Diary" is the place where you will upload pictures of your craftwork. It must be yours. "Post new Patterns & Magazine" is the place where you will upload single patterns, books and magazines.
To post a picture of your craftwork, do the following: 1- Click on the first Forum
2- Click on "New"
3- Choose the correct forum your work belongs, write its name and click on "image" to upload its picture.
4- Do not use the following buttons with an"X"
5- Finally, click on "New Thread"
To upload single patterns or books or magazines: 1- Click on the second forum
2- Click on "New"
3- Choose the correct forum your file belongs, choose the corresponding info to the forum you chose (eg.: crochet forum - crochet info), upload the image by clicking on"image" and the file by clicking on "attach".
To learn more about posting, read my tutorial, please:
How to upload patterns at the crochet forum (Updated)
4- Do not use the following buttons with an"X"
5- Click on "New Thread"
This is how people will see your thread after clicking on that:
It happens because the thread hasn't been approved yet. After the moderators check out the thread and see if everything is Ok,your thread will be sent to the forum you chose.
I need help please. It is not allowing me to view messages on my posts or edit my post.It was moved to recycled and marked duplicate but I can not locate the English version of asteria here. However, I can’t access the new section, as well as my own posts, either. It says it because of my user group. Is there anyway someone can help? Apparently I also am not allowed to send messages… static/image/common/user_online.gif leopard danio static/image/common/clock.gif 2018-11-19 18:39
Take a look at this screenshot of a thread I'm moderating now:
Trying to edit what I uploaded to get it right but...
I definitely do not have the line that starts with the pdf symbol file name description read permissions gold coin line.
This part works:
After clicking on attach (to upload the file), you'll click on select attach and choose the file on your computer.
This part is missing my pattern says 100% but is not clickable no boxes.
Then, after the upload is complete, you'll see a place to put the price like this picture above.
Everything else in your image is the same.
My image is missing also.
I think others might be having the same issue since there are other patterns awaiting approval with a missing image just like mine. At least that is how it looks on my mac. Some patterns have images some don't.

Hello, I do not understand why when uploading a new pattern, I get a different price than what I req ...
you'll only get a different price if the pattern is free and you didn't know about it. The maximum price for a free pattern is 10 coins. By "free pattern" I mean the patterns which can be downloaded for free on the internet. Another case the price can be lower is that if you upload more than one file at a thread and charge more than you can. There's a rule about the maximum price you can charge according to your level. The forum will correct it automatically if you upload one file per thread.
About the amount that you'll get, it'll be a bit lower because of the forum's tax. static/image/common/user_online.gif Laurabel static/image/common/clock.gif 2020-12-1 07:12
Thank you for the explanation! But still I have a question, when uploading a patter what do we have...
You are not obliged to change the read permission. If you leave it "Unlimited", it means anyone can download the file. If you change it to DIY2 (level 2), for instance, it means users from level 2 and higher levels will be able download the file. A user who is at level 1 wouldn't be able to download it. If you leave it "unlimited", everyone will be able to buy the file and you'll get more coins. Got it?

decrease the picture then tell me if that works. I use Photoshop and decrease it to 10cm width
this still didnt work unfortunately. picture is a 2 mb .png (which it says is one of the allowed filetypes) and i cant crop it any smaller because then you cant see the whole pattern :( i really want to contribute to the site it still gives the same error, ill repeat it here because it was a while ago:
Uploading is finished! Successfull: 0, Failed: 1, items:

Hi, moderator said I uploaded a duplicate and needed to “search better”.
The file they listed is named incorrectly in both pattern name and designer name.
I’m not too sure what we’re expected to do if patterns are allowed to be uploaded so incorrectly? The only way anyone would find this pattern under the incorrect name is if from they search the designers birth name which isn’t advertised publicly and must be digged for to find.
Whereas my “not approved due to duplicate” pattern is listed under the correct names static/image/common/user_online.gif leopard danio static/image/common/clock.gif 2021-5-27 06:05
I just found one of your threads and it's still to be moderated. After uploading a file, you need...
Hello. First of all a big thank you for your hard work, Admins and Moderators. Ive been wondering for how long does it takes for a thread to be approved by Moderators? ive seen some of them being done in few hours but others are taking more than a day. Is there a reason for that? i mean it does depends on language or how the title was written? Kind regards, Caly static/image/common/user_online.gif knitknitknit static/image/common/clock.gif 2018-11-20 07:22
Hmm my screen doesn't have those options.
The image doesn't show up when I save the draft either.

Para ver a permissão, passe o mouse em cima do nome do arquivo e você vai ver "Read Permission" e um número. Se não tiver essa informação, quer dizer que não tem restrições.

Para entender melhor qual nível representa esse número, observe abaixo:
Read Permissions:
Níveis 1 and 2 - 80
Níveis 3 up to 10 - 90 Thank you for the information. merci beaucoup ! Excellent!
Pictures are always easier to follow than words!
Very helpful :) Thank you Thank you.... Very clear instruction, will follow. Hi
Can you please clarify where to put the gold coin price if you don't use the buttons with an "x thread price" as shown in image #4 above.
I saved a knitting draft but I could only find a place to enter price where the "x thread price" is.
4- Do not use the following buttons with an"X"
Thanks!
