This looks like a wonderful idea ... does the split thread not slide up and over the bead? When i stitch a MD (as i plan to one day) i too will try this method out ... many thanks for the tip!!! :)

I do a half point or a full cross stitch depending on which direction I want to make the beads.

Question: what color thread to use? Same color as the bead or same color as the fabric or same color as surrounding stitches?
