I put my initials in my work. If it is a birth sampler that already has a date on it, I dont bother to put the year since it is already there. But for a HAED, I would definately add my initials and year - in a corner using backstitch that is a few shades darker (or lighter) than the stitches in that area. I haven't framed any of my larger pieces yet, but I think when I do, I will add an index card with more detailed info about the piece in the back - full name, name of pattern, date of start and finish, and if it is a gift, then who I made it for.

That's a brilliant idea, you could add the year you stitched it too.

I have signed some samplers by making my initials a different color on an alphabet, I should try to sign all my work but often I'm so excited to finish I forget.

I never sign an of my works. In my opinion it's not always good idea. Especially when you did landscapes or really small projects

The index card is very cute! You can probably find really pretty scrap booking paper to use instead of an index card too!
