What a shame. I am sure this has happened to each of us at some time.
Hope you can save the cute guy.
If it was me, I might attach it to a piece of felt and whip stitch it over the edges.

He is such a cute little guy it would be a shame to throw him out... If it had happened to me I think I would try Sallyrose's idea and attach him to a piece of felt. :)

You could lace him to a piece of foam core or cardboard and make him into a flat fold?! At least your stitching won't go to waste. I've had this happen to me so I know how hard it is to think of how to fix it!
